IMPORTANT NOTICE TO PET OWNERS:
1. As the HOT summer temperatures are approaching PLEASE do not leave your dogs/cats inside of your vehicles even if for just a minute. The temperature inside your car is a health risk and can result in the death of your companion.
2. If you are taking your pet for a camping trip, or day excursion PLEASE be sure to bring PLENTY of water not only for YOURSELF but YOUR DOG AS WELL. There are plenty of stores, including ours, that carry an array of travel water dishes and feeders. Its very important to keep them hydrated as well.
3. Please do not leave your dogs outside during the prime heat times of the day (ie. when the temperature reaches 90+). Usually early morning playtime, or later in the evening is best if you are not able to take your dog to an indoor play park.
4. If for some reason you find that you are unable to care for your pet, regardless if you got it from Just Pets or not we are here to help. If it is more education on providing adequate care or if it is helping you rehome your friend-for whatever the reason may be WE ARE HERE TO HELP. Please do not abandon your pet, regardless of the situation. We will gladly take in rodents, small animals and reptiles (its helpful if you have a cage but no worries if you do not) and our veterinarian is helpful at finding puppies outstanding homes.
5. If you have lost a dog or found a dog. Please contact PETS 911. They have an on-line data base that is very effective. Also, most dogs have microchips so if you can get them to a veterinarian to have them scanned their owners can be located. At Just Pets, we can also scan a dog for possible microchip and definitly at no charge.
6. Last but not least, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep your pets up to date on their shots and worming. The Parvo Virus has mutated and cases increase as the summer approaches and more pet owners bring their dogs to places such as parks where they could be exposed. The vaccinations are VERY inexpensive and will save you the possible heartache of dealing with a companion who has contracted the deadly illness.
